A 66-year-old farmer collapsed and died while watering his cornfield in Barangay Pasil, Paoay, Ilocos Norte.
The victim was identified as Prudencio Abuy.
Another farmer discovered Abuy lying on the ground and called for help immediately.
Nearby, an electric cable connected to a water pump was found close to where Abuy fell.
Police investigation suggests the victim may have been electrocuted.
A doctor later confirmed his death, citing possible electrocution as cause.
Authorities remind the public to be extra careful when using electrical equipment in wet environments to prevent similar incidents.
