Two men were hit by stray bullets on the first day of 2025 in Davao region.

According to a report by GMA Super Radyo Davao, Police Regional Office-Davao (PRO-11) Spokesperson, Major Catherine Dela Rey, said the incidents happened in Panabo City, Davao del Norte and Sulop, Davao del Sur.

The first incident happened in Panabo City at around 12:20 a.m. where a 19-year-old student was hit by a stray bullet while watching fireworks during the New Year revelry.

The victim was hit in the head.

In Sulop town, a 22-year-old man was hit by a stray bullet while driving his motorcycle around 5:45 a.m.

He was hit in the shoulder by a bullet from what is suspected to be a caliber .45 pistol.

The two victims are recuperating in different hospitals while authorities are investigating the two incidents.
