Up to 27 former members of the New People’s Army (NPA) have returned to the folds of the law in Davao del Norte.
The 27 surrendered to the 56th Infantry Battalion and provincial government.
Among them was a former squad leader of Guerilla Front 55 that operated in Bukidnon.
According to the provincial government, the former rebels also handed over 20 high-powered guns and seven short firearms.
The former rebels will be enrolled in the government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP).
The provincial government also gave P10,000 cash assistance and food packs to the former rebels.
