Thick smoke filled Malta Village in Barangay Malued, Dagupan City as two houses were engulfed in flames morning on Monday, December 30, 2024.

Meanwhile, a late-night blaze damaged four stalls at the Baguio City Market.

In Dagupan City, firefighters responded quickly to the fire with residents pitching in to salvage belongings and help douse the flames.

Authorities are still investigating the cause and total damage from the incident.

Hours earlier, a fire broke out on Hilltop Road at the Baguio City Market around 9:30 p.m.

Video footage from Aldrin Ballesteros captured the blaze eating up stalls as firefighters worked to contain the fire.

The fire was declared under control at 9:43 p.m. but not after it destroyed four market stalls.

Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong inspected the area affected.
