A two-year-old boy died after strong current carried him away while he was swimming at the river in Zamboanga City on Christmas Day.
Police said the mother brought his son to the river to swim but she did not notice that the current had gone strong.
The mother survived but her son was drifted away.
They tried to search for the boy the whole day but failed.
The Quick Response Team retrieved the body of the boy at the grassy portion of the river in Barangay Ayala the following day.
