A young Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) in Dubai is fighting for her life after being hospitalized for a severe kidney condition.
Her family in Mangaldan, Pangasinan, is seeking help desperately to bring her home.
Junaliza Gabinete, 26, left for Dubai on October 2024 to work as a domestic helper.
Her family believed she was doing well. In a video shared by her employers, she appeared happy as she cared for a child.
However, their happiness turned into worry when Junaliza called them on Christmas Eve, asking for help.
A video sent by her coworkers showed her writhing in pain.
Junaliza is now in a hospital where her coworkers rushed her after she experienced acute abdominal pain.
Her vital signs are stable, and she has undergone surgery.
The local government’s OFW Help Desk in Mangaldan is assisting the family.
As the Gabinete family waits for updates, they are calling on good Samaritans and authorities for support to ensure Junaliza’s recovery and safe return.
