A man crossing the National Highway in Barangay Malabago, Mangaldan, Pangasinan was hit fatally by a speeding motorcycle early morning on December 26, 2024, just days before his 60th birthday.

The victim, identified as 59-year-old Joey Cuario, suffered multiple fractures and injuries.

Despite being rushed to the hospital, he was declared dead on arrival.

The motorcycle rider also sustained injuries and was brought to court for inquest proceedings.

Initial investigations by the police revealed that the rider was speeding.

Mangaldan Police Chief PLTCOL. Roldan Cabatan urged motorists to drive safely.

“Cautious tayo lagi. Lalo kung ganito na 12 midnight. Huwag masyadong mabilis. May mga tao diyan,” he said.

Cuario was set to celebrate his 60th birthday on December 29 with a planned surprise visit from his child in London.

This tragedy adds to the 12 recorded fatalities from vehicular accidents in Mangaldan in 2024.
