Barge terminals in Davao City and Samal Island will continue to operate for 24 hours this holiday season, including on New Year’s Day.
According to the management of Mae Wess Ferry Terminal, around 1,000 vehicles and 2,000 passengers have been recorded daily this holiday season.
However, at least four ferry boats are operating 24 hours.
“Sa 24 hours sa kadlawon, usa nga ferry mobyahe. Kana nga ferry, sugod na siya atong petsa kinse hangtod na na sa January 10,” Mae Wess Assistant Manager, Engr. Christian Abejuela, said.
The DavSam Ferry Terminal is also operating 24 hours and is ready to adjust should there be more passengers to accommodate.
Most of those who travel to Samal Island are for beach adventure and vacation.
“Just a day tour lang for today,” a tourist said.
