A store that sold motorcycle parts and accessories in General Santos City was razed by fire.
The fire was huge enough to require firefighters from other areas in Sarangani to help put it out.
According to a resident, someone was welding at the back of the two-story building, where stocks of tires were stored, before the fire broke out.
More tires were reportedly unloaded there prior to the incident.
“Makita nato na may gina-construct na extension, may naga-welding… bali, sa welding nag-halin kay kana dira pakadto diri, puro gyud na sya tire ug oil kanang mga baligya nila,” the resident, Bebing Alfanta, said.
Authorities said the owner who stayed on the second floor of the building was not around when the fire broke out.
No one was reported hurt in the incident.
Investigators are still looking into the actual cause of the fire and the extent of damage.
