A woman who allegedly tried to sneak suspected illegal drugs into the Davao Prison and Penal Farm (DAPECOL) in Braulio E. Dujali, Davao del Norte was arrested.
According to the Police Regional Office-Davao (PRO-11), the suspected shabu worth around P680,000 was reportedly wrapped in a transparent cellophane and covered with black electrical tape.
The package was found in the lower portion of the suspect’s pajama during body frisking.
The woman was taken under police custody and will face charges.
“The vigilance and dedication of BuCor personnel in intercepting the contraband, emphasizing that such proactive measures help prevent illegal activities within the penal colony,” PRO-11 Director, Leon Victor Rosete, said.
Meanwhile, anti-illegal drug operatives arrested two individuals with shabu worth more than P3 million at a checkpoint in Davao City.
Police said five plastic bags of shabu were found on the floor of the passenger seat during the plain view inspection.
The police’s crime laboratory reportedly confirmed that the items confiscated were shabu.
“Atong gipaningkamotan gyud nga dili na siya masulod ang ing-ani ka bolto nga illegal drugs kay basig possible gyud nga ilang idistribute diri sa atong area of responsibility mao ng ang atong control borders kay istrikto gyud ang pagpahigayon og inspeksyon,” Davao City Police Office (DCPO) Spokesperson, Captain Hazel Tuazon, said.
The two suspects arrested will also face charges for alleged violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
