Minimum wage earners and domestic workers in Northern Mindanao will get an increase in their salary in 2025.

The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board-Northern Mindanao (RTWPB-10) approved the wage order granting a P23 increase for non-agriculture and P35 for the agriculture sector.

This means that the minimum wage rate in the region will now be P461 for wage category 1 and P446 for wage category 2.

Wage category 1 includes the cities of Cagayan de Oro, Iligan, Malaybalay, Valencia, Gingoog, El Salvador, and Ozamis, and the towns of Opol, Tagoloan, Villanueva, Jasaan, Opol, Maramag, Quezon, Manolo Fortich, and Lugait.

All other areas belong to wage category 2, including all retail and service establishments employing not more than 10 workers.

According to the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC), the wage order will take effect on January 12, 2025.

Meanwhile, domestic workers in the region will also get an increase of P1,000, which brings their monthly minimum wage to P6,000.
