Over 2,000 employees of the Iloilo Provincial Government are set to receive approximately P47,000 in incentives leading to the Christmas holidays.

The workers are members of the  Association of Iloilo Provincial Government Employees.

According to Ma. Airis Penetrante, association president, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (Provincial Board) has approved Supplemental Budget Numbers 3 and 4 on December 17, 2024 that allocated funds for the employees’ Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA) Incentive worth P22,000; Service Recognition Incentive (SRI) worth P20,000; and Productivity Enhancement Incentive (PEI) worth P5,000.

In addition, Penetrante said that job hires and contract of service (COS) workers may get at least P7,000 as gratuity pay, but the final amount  depends on the guidelines of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).

The granting of incentives is a measure of the government to recognize the hard work of government employees year-round, and to encourage them to continue working efficiently.

The CNA was pegged initially at P15,000 but with the request of Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr. and employees, especially from Rep. Pedro G. Trono Memorial Hospital in Guimbal town, a position paper was submitted to the DBM that helped raise the amount to P22,000 for qualified employees.
