Authorities have identified persons of interest in separate shooting incidents in Maco and Nabunturan towns in Davao de Oro.

Davao de Oro Police Provincial Office spokesperson, Captain Jusibelle Abellon, said the investigation into the two incidents continues to give justice to the victims and their families.

A fisherman was shot dead in Barangay Poblacion, Maco on Sunday, December 15, 2024.

According to the victim’s fellow fisherman, they have just returned from fishing when the suspect approached the victim and asked how much he was selling the fish.

The suspect then shot the victim four times in the head.

Police said the victim received death threats prior to the incident.

Meanwhile, a woman was killed while her husband was injured after they were shot in Barangay Matilo, Nabunturan on the same day.

The couple was shot while they were inside their store.

Authorities said the killing may have something to do with the business of the victims.

Abellon clarified that the two incidents were isolated cases and were not connected.
