A magnitude 4.8 earthquake jolted Davao Occidental around 7:05 p.m. on Tuesday, December 17, 2024.
The quake was located 05.24°N, 127.54°E - 222 km S 71° E of Jose Abad Santos and had a depth of 96 kilometers.
The Philippine Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said the tremor was tectonic in origin.
Meanwhile, a magnitude 4.3 earthquake rocked Tarragona, Davao Oriental around 7:12 p.m.
The quake had a depth of 120 kilometers and was also tectonic in origin.
