A farmer was found dead at a river where he went to fish in Vintar, Ilocos Norte.
The victim was identified as Armando Valentin, 43. He went to the river on December 11, 2024, Wednesday, but did not return home the following morning, prompting his wife to report the matter to authorities.
It was only two days later on Saturday, December 14, that his body was found at the river. He was still holding the fishing device.
Police suspect he might have been electrocuted by the electrofishing device he used and drowned.
Authorities ruled out foul play in the farmer's death.
