A 67-year-old retired seaman in Talisay City, Cebu has injured his 60-year-old wife and two children in a shooting incident.
The family was having breakfast when the retired seaman shot and injured members of his household.
The incident happened in Sitio San Miguel, Barangay Linao, Talisay City morning on December 15, 2024.
His 33-year-old son and 20-year-old daughter grappled for the gun, but their father fell on the floor dead.
Police believe the suspect died of a heart attack.
The retired seaman was also deemed a Person With Disability (PWD) after his right leg was amputated because of the complications of diabetes.
His wife sustained a gunshot wound on the right shoulder, while his daughter was injured on her belly.
Further, his son suffered a gunshot wound on the face.
In an initial investigation done by the police it was learned that while the members of the retired seaman's family were having breakfast, the suspect stormed out of his room wielding a revolver and began shooting the victims.
Police Lt. Col. Epream Paguyod, chief of the Talisay Police, disclosed that the rage stemmed from a dispute on a certain property, details of which have not been elaborated yet, as of posting time.
The suspect was rushed to the hospital but he was pronounced dead on arrival.
