At least 14 volcanic earthquakes were recorded at Kanlaon Volcano in Negros Island in the last 24 hours, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) .

In its latest bulletin on December 15, 2024, PHIVOLCS said that Kanlaon Volcano emitted 3,620 tons of sulfur dioxide (SO2) on December 14, 2024 and a moderate 50-meter plume toward the west-southwest side of the volcano.

Degassing continues, PHIVOLCS said.

Alert Level 3 prevails over Kanlaon which means high level of volcanic unrest following its December 9, 2024 eruption.

PHIVOLCS has warned the public of lava flow or effusion, ash fall, pyroclastic density current, rockfall, and lahar in the event of a downpour.
