A female security guard in Cagayan de Oro City survived 11 stab wounds inflicted by her former live-in partner.

The stabbing happened during an altercation between the two at the victim’s workplace where the suspect went. The suspect allegedly sprayed something on the victim’s face before stabbing her.

According to the police, the suspect reportedly did not want the female guard to break up with him.

“Kini atong biktima makigbulag o nagbulag nani siya o siguro wala pay pormal nga (pagbulag) pero ang lalaki dili musugot nga magbulag silang duha,” Agora Police Station Investigator, Staff Sergeant Manuel Zumel, said.

The suspect escaped and fled his boarding house. He is now being pursued by authorities.

“Kung asa man ka karon ang imong gibuhat dili gyud maayo unta dukdukon ka sa imong konsensya ang Ginoo ra nahibaw sa imoha ug makakita ka karon sa (interview) surrender na lang,” Zumel added.

Police said the victim is now in safe condition.

The suspect may face charges for frustrated homicide and violation of the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004 (RA 9262).
