An aquaculturist of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources-Davao (BFAR-11) was shot dead inside her car in Panabo City, Davao del Norte.
Police said the victim, Karen Candilosas, 42, senior aquaculturist of the BFAR National Mariculture Center in Panabo City, was shot in the head while she was parking her car at an establishment.
Investigators recovered two empty shells of an alleged caliber 9mm pistol from the crime scene.
Authorities are looking at personal grudge or work-related matters as possible motive in the killing.
Investigation into the incident continues to identify the perpetrator.
BFAR-11 condemned the incident and committed to support the pursuit for justice.
“This tragic loss has left an irreplaceable void in our hearts and in BFAR, as an organization. We strongly condemn the circumstances surrounding her death and stand in solidarity with her family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time,” BFAR-11 said.
