President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. led the distribution of Certificates of Condonation with Release of Mortgage (COCROM) to more than 18,000 agrarian reform beneficiaries in Davao and SOCCSKSARGEN on Thursday, December 5, 2024.
The COCROM aims to free farmers of their loans and other financial obligations.
In Davao region, Marcos distributed COCROM to around 7,000 beneficiaries in Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, and Davao del Norte.
The COCROM covered the 10 hectares of farmlands of beneficiaries with debt amounting to P527 million and who have been paying the government from 1988 to July 2023.
Under the New Agrarian Emancipation Act (RA 11953), the government will shoulder the farmers' financial obligations.
“Sa aming mahal na beneficiaries sana po ang aming handog ay makapagbigay sainyo ng bagong simula naway gamitin ninyo ang pagkakataong ito upang palaguin ang inyong mga sakahan at itaguyod ang inuong mga pamilya at ang ating bansa,” Marcos said.
The President also distributed 550 electronic land titles to 343 beneficiaries in Davao del Norte and 122 in Davao del Sur, while at least 144 beneficiaries in Davao City received regular Certificate of Land Ownership Award (CLOA).
Meanwhile, Marcos distributed COCROM to 11,699 agrarian reform beneficiaries in Sarangani, North Cotabato, South Cotabato, and Sultan Kudarat, freeing them from P939 million in loans, interests, and surcharges.
The distribution was held at the Sarangani Sports Training Center in Alabel town.
Marcos said the COCROM will help farmers focus on how to improve their livelihood.
“Sa madaling sabi mapapawalang bisa ang halos isang bilyong pisong utang kasama ang compensation, interes, surcharge, ng ating magsasaka. Ang inyong nais ipambabayad sana dito ay maaaring gamitin sa ibang pangangailagan,” Marcos said.
The President also distributed 1,251 CLOA to beneficiaries in Sarangani.
