The bodies of three young students who drowned at the Cagayan River in Tumauini, Isabela were recovered.

The victims were identified as Jhon Philip Pazzibugan, 8, Lawrence Bacani, 9, and Jerome Bacani, 10.

They were swept away by strong currents while swimming in the river in Annafunan on December 3, at around 4 p.m.

School classes were suspended that day due to heavy rains in Isabela.

The children had gone swimming together but were caught by the river’s swift flow.

Their bodies were found after retrieval operations the following day.

Meanwhile, another drowning occurred in Quirino on December 3, when 19-year-old Weigen Dela Cruz drowned while swimming in a river in Sitio Siitan, Barangay San Ramos, Nagtipunan.

Dela Cruz had been part of a group that decided to visit the Landingan Viewpoint but changed plans due to poor road conditions caused by past storms.

While on their way back, they stopped at a river nearby where Dela Cruz was swept away by the current.

His body was recovered later and turned over to the family.
