A live-in couple was arrested with suspected shabu worth nearly P7 million in a buy-bust operation in Cagayan de Oro City.

Police said they have been monitoring the alleged illegal drug activities of the suspects for quite some time.

“Actually, sir, kani atong suspetsado, labi na gyud tung babae nato, ingon pa nila gikan na daw ni sila sa prisohan sa BJMP. Nakagawas lang,” Cogon Police Station Chief, Major Sabino Labitad, said.

Seized from the suspects were sachets of suspected shabu weighing more than one kilo.

Authorities believe that a big-time drug personality is behind the suspects’ operation and may have been supplying them the illegal drugs.

“Matod pa nila, dili man gyud sila ang ga-dispose… ang ila lang diha, gakuhaon ra daw sa ilang balay or ingon pa nila, usahay pud through communication sa messenger nga magbilin lang, ila lang ibilin sa mga basurahan sa mga kanto-kanto,” Labitad added.

The suspects are now detained and will face charges for alleged violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act (RA 9165).

Police will also run after their companions.
