Food stall owners in Calasiao, Pangasinan are under close watch as the Municipal Health Office (MHO) inspects the town’s food bazaar to ensure compliance to food safety protocols.
The regular inspection is aimed at preventing foodborne illnesses.
It focused on the proper handling, storage of food, and the hygiene practices of vendors.
"Para maiwasan at mapanatiling malinis ‘yung ibibigay na mga pagkain sa mga tao, tapos para maiwasan ang food poisoning," Jierzón Baldueza Quinto, head nurse of Calasiao MHO, said.
Vendors have been advised to wear proper attire, including hairnets, aprons, and gloves, and ensure their equipment is sanitized.
"Unang-una, kailangan nila ng hairnet, apron, at gloves; para talagang malinis," Quinto added.
Students like Warren Albarida and Kyla Salinas, both support the initiative.
"[Para] iwas sa food poisoning and sakit na makukuha sa pagkain na kinakain nila," Albarida said.
"Para hygienic at para hindi magkasakit yung kakain dito," Salinas adds.
