Up to 171 police personnel were deployed to provide security, and ensure peace and order in the 2025 elections and parliamentary polls in the Special Geographic Area of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (SGA-BARMM).

The send-off ceremony took place at the Camp BGen Salipada K Pendatun in Parang Maguindanao del Norte.

According to the Police Regional Office-BAR, the 171 police personnel will serve as Special Security Task Group that will preserve and maintain peace and security in the eight towns under SGA.

These towns include Pahamuddin, Kadayangan, Nabalawag, Old Kabakan, Kapalawan, Tuugunan, Ligawasan, and Malidagao.

Aside from ensuring the peace and security in SGA-BARMM, the group is also tasked to secure the 2025 midterm polls and the first Bangsamoro parliamentary elections.

“This send-off ceremony is a proof of our firm commitment to providing an immediate law enforcement presence, ensuring that the eight municipalities in the SGA-BARMM have access to policing services, and securing the general welfare of the public,” PRO-BAR Director, Brigadier General Romeo Macapaz, said.
