As traffic flow slowed on Perez Boulevard in Dagupan City, Pangasinan due to the ongoing drainage construction, authorities are enforcing stricter rules to manage the situation.
Heavy equipment stationed in the area has added to the congestion, particularly during rush hours.
Motorists like Roland Aquino are trying to remain patient.
"Kaunting tiis lang, wala din naman kasi tayong magagawa sa traffic," Aquino said.
In response, the Public Order and Safety Office (POSO) implemented a no-double-parking policy.
"Kasi ‘yung iba hindi pa ginawa ang harap nila para makapag-parking pa. Pero ang problema, sa kalsada na sila nagpa-park," POSO Chief Arvin Decano said.
Motorists agree that the new measures are necessary to ease the traffic.
"Mahirap kasi kapag masikip ang daan," Elmer Soria, another motorist, said.
Additional traffic enforcers have been deployed to Perez Boulevard, which remains a two-way street despite the ongoing construction.
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) earlier said the project may take up to nine months to finish.
