A man was found dead in Barangay Batobato, San Isidro, Davao Oriental.
According to a report by GMA Super Radyo Davao, the victim’s feet and hands were tied, his mouth was covered with a duct tape, and his face was covered with a shirt.
Police said the victim was wearing a blue short, black shirt, and gray jacket when found.
The victim is said to be between 25 to 35 years old and stood five feet two inches tall.
He has yet to be identified, as of this writing.
The victim also sustained gunshot wounds in the left leg, body, and head while his right eye had contusions.
Two fired cartridge cases of an alleged caliber .45 pistol were recovered from the crime scene.
Investigators said some witnesses heard gunshots shortly before midnight on November 29, 2024 but they just ignored them thinking they could have come from an improvised cannon known as “lantaka.”
Authorities are investigating the incident to identify the victim and the suspect, and determine the motive in the killing.
