Up to 35 tricycle association leaders in Mangaldan, Pangasinan are now deputized members of the Public Order Safety Office (POSO).
They are tasked with helping manage traffic and maintaining order in key areas.
Under Executive Order No. 74 signed by the town mayor, the leaders of Tricycle Operators and Drivers Associations (TODA) will oversee traffic flow, ensure proper use of designated parking spaces, and maintain peace in the public market, including monitoring ambulant vendors.
They are also responsible for identifying and addressing "colorum" or illegal tricycle operations.
The initiative is seen as a long-term solution to Mangaldan's traffic challenges and efforts to enhance order in public spaces.
