Nearly a hundred ambulant vendors in Dagupan City are adjusting to a new locations as the city's new 'baratilyo' and foodstrip areas open to the public, according to the Anti-Littering Task Force.
Mylene Mendoza, a vegetable vendor who was stationed previously on Galvan Street, said the move to Jovellanos Street is more convenient.
To help vendors during the peak season, the task force relocated them temporarily to Jovellanos Street, near the church, and to Zamora Street.
In the afternoons, vendors are also allowed to set up in the downtown area.
To prevent conflicts among vendors, each was assigned an equal-sized space, and a lottery system was used to determine their spots.
The new setup is expected to last for three months, allowing vendors to continue their businesses with proper guidance and regulations.
