A magnitude 5.0 earthquake jolted Surigao del Sur around 4:59 p.m. on Wednesday, November 27, 2024.
The epicenter was located 09.00°N, 126.52°E - 025 km N 69° E of Cagwait town.
According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), the tremor had a depth of 10 kilometers and was tectonic in origin.
Instrumental intensities were reported in the following areas:
Intensity III - City of Tandag, Surigao del Sur
Intensity I - City of Bislig, Surigao del Sur
