Up to 65 police officers in Davao region have been relieved from their posts and reassigned to Luzon, the Police Regional Office-Davao (PRO-11) said.
PRO-11 said the national headquarters issued the reassignment order.
The police officers were assigned in different police offices and stations in Region 11. They were reassigned to PRO-2, PRO-MIMAROPA, PRO-5, and PRO-Cordillera Administrative Region.
Anytime mi pwedeng ma-reassign and anywhere pud siya,” PRO-11 Spokesperson, Major Catherine Dela Rey, said.
Among the 65 were personnel assigned previously at the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) who were relieved during the time of former PRO-11 chief, Brigadier General Aligre Martinez, after being placed under investigation in connection with the killings during police operations.
Others were relieved during the leadership of former PRO-11 director, Brigadier General Nicolas Torre III, after they were found to have allegedly manipulated police blotters.
PRO-11 has yet to receive an order on the replacements of the cops relieved.
PRO-11 assured that the reassignment will not affect police operations and law enforcement activities in the region.
