Over 2,000 farmers in Calasiao, Pangasinan, have received support, including hybrid and inbred seeds, as well as fertilizers, to help them recover.

The aid came from the national government in partnership with the local government.

This comes at a crucial time for farmers who have been affected severely by recent storms that flooded many rice fields in the area.

The assistance is also aimed at helping them prepare for the upcoming cropping seasons.

"Para sa palay, para sa second cropping eason, tsaka sa mais na itinatanim namin," Juanito Laforteza, a local farmer, said.

The distribution was done in three batches, with more scheduled in the coming months to ensure all affected farmers receive support.
