The Police Regional Office-Davao (PRO-11) has confirmed that seven police officers in the region were allegedly involved in illegal drug activities.

PRO-11 Director, Brigadier General Leon Victor Rosete, said six of the seven have tested positive for illegal drug use following a drug test. The other one allegedly sold illegal drugs.

Rosete said that under the policy of the Philippine National Police (PNP), those who are found engaged in illegal drug activities will face disciplinary action.

According to a report by GMA Super Radyo Davao, the seven were made to answer why they should not face disciplinary action.

The seven police officers have already been disarmed.

PRO-11 Spokesperson, Major Catherine Dela Rey, said the seven are currently at the holding unit of the station where they were assigned while investigation continues.

Once they are found guilty, they will likely face dismissal from service.
