A firing range officer was shot dead by motorcycle-riding gunmen in Barangay Dadiangas East, General Santos City.

The 46-year-old victim is a resident of Malapatan, Sarangani.

Police said the victim went to see a friend in the area to supposedly discuss their plan to go to other places to join shooting competitions when the incident happened.

Authorities are looking into personal grudge as possible motive in the killing.

“Ang biktima diay naay personal grudge… kaniya katung kaaway sa yuta,” General Santos City Police Office Director, Col. Nicomedes Olaivar, Jr., said.

Investigators recovered seven empty shells of a caliber .45 pistol from the crime scene.

The family of the victim has requested not to disclose yet to the media the person of interest.

“Dili sa ipa-divulge ang mga information…siguro for security reason. Anyway, ato na na gi-backtrack ang atong mga CCTV footages para maka-file na ta og kaso,” Olaivar added.
