A town in Bukidnon has been declared free of insurgents.
The Municipality of Dangcagan has been declared insurgency-free pursuant to a resolution passed by the Municipal Peace and Order Council (MPOC).
The declaration was attended by local leaders and police and military officials,
“The declaration marks the culmination of collaborative efforts between the Philippine National Police (PNP), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), local government units, Indigenous Cultural Communities, and various stakeholders who contributed to Dangcagan’s journey toward peace and security,” the Police Regional Office-Northern Mindanao (PRO-10) said.
PRO-10 Director, Brigadier General Jaysen De Guzman, said the declaration is a result of unity among stakeholders.
The region’s top cop has urged the public to continue to support the government’s initiatives that aim to sustain peace and ensure a safe place to live, work, and do business.
"This declaration is a testament to the collective dedication of our police force, the military, local officials, and the people of Dangcagan in prioritizing peace and development. It shows what we can achieve when we work together toward a common goal," De Guzman added.
The 10th Infantry Division (10ID) said the declaration of Dangcagan as insurgency-free municipality follows after similar declarations in the towns of San Fernando, Kadingilan, and Damulog.
“The declaration of Dangcagan as insurgency-free is a testament to what we can achieve when communities, government agencies, and security forces work hand in hand. Following San Fernando, Kadingilan, and Damulog, this victory brings us closer to a Bukidnon free from the shadow of insurgency,” 10ID Commander, Major General Allan Hambala, said.
