Vice President Sara Duterte has said the government must provide job and livelihood opportunities for its people instead of assistance.
The vice president said she is hurt because some programs in the 2025 proposed budget like the Mindanao Railway Project have not been appropriated.
However, Duterte is hopeful that the big-ticket projects of the Build, Build, Build program of the previous administration will push through.
“I ran on the platform of continuity and unity particularly the Build, Build, Build program of the previous administration under President Duterte.
Meanwhile, Duterte said she is not yet thinking about the 2028 presidential election. She said candidates will likely decide in December 2026.
Duterte was in Caraga on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, to lead the thanksgiving activity of the Office of the Vice President (OVP).
A check worth P150,000 was turned over to the Tigaw Farmers Development Cooperative under the Program “Magnegosyo Ta Day” at the Butuan City Satellite Office.
Medical and burial assistance were also given during the 89th OVP anniversary celebration.
The OVP is also set to hold thanksgiving activities in Bukidnon and Lanao del Sur.
