President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. awarded land titles to 2,487 farmers in Pampanga, marking a significant milestone in land reform and financial relief for agrarian beneficiaries on Thursday, November 21, 2024.

In his speech, the President praised the farmers’ contributions to the country’s progress.

“Ang programang ito ay isang magandang pagtutulungan ng pribadong sektor at ng pamahalaan. Talaga namang pong napakalaki ng maitutulong ng mga kababayan nating Kapampangan sa pangkalahatang pag-unlad ng ating bansa,” he said.

The Certificates of Land Ownership Award (CLOA) secure the farmers’ legal rights to the land they till, while the Certificates of Condonation with Release of Mortgage (COCROM) free them from financial obligations such as loans and penalties.

Later in the day, Marcos led the groundbreaking ceremony for the Meralco Terra Solar Power Project in Peñaranda, Nueva Ecija, the country’s largest solar power facility.

The project is expected to provide clean energy to over two million households and create job opportunities for Filipinos.

It covers areas in Peñaranda, Gapan City, General Tinio, Nueva Ecija, and San Miguel, Bulacan.

A 13-kilometer transmission line will connect Gapan City to San Leonardo, Nueva Ecija.

The facility is set to be operational by 2026, helping meet the country’s growing energy demand while promoting renewable energy.

Marcos expressed his gratitude to those involved in the project.

“Take a lead for the future, there [are] innovations and sustain our connecting hope for a cleaner and greener Philippines,” he said.
