Authorities discovered over P112 million in cash inside 12 vaults seized from a business process outsourcing (BPO) company in Bagac, Bataan during a court-ordered search.

The vaults, found at Central One Bataan, were opened using specialized equipment from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), after company access codes did not work.

Stacks of money in various currencies, including P1-million bundles sealed in plastic, were retrieved.

The total haul included P112 million, $170,000 (P10 million), and other foreign currencies like Malaysian Ringgit and Singapore Dollars.

This discovery follows an earlier raid in October 2024 where two vaults containing P30 million were opened initially.

Authorities allege the company was involved in backend operations of illegal gaming platforms abroad and lacked a permit from the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR).

Central One Bataan’s legal counsel, Atty. Don Chiong, denied the accusations.

“[Para sa] operations po ito. It’s a big company employing 1,600 employees. So this money is used for operations, for salary, for payment ng various suppliers, et cetera... we are here cooperating with the authorities... we are not hiding anything,” she said.

The investigation is ongoing as authorities verify the company’s compliance and the origins of the cash recovered.
