The combined wrath of Typhoons #NikaPH, #OfelPH, and #PepitoPH left 12 people dead and affected millions across Luzon, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council’s (NDRRMC) said Thursday, November 21, 2024.

The three typhoons swept through the Philippines from November 9 to 18, 2024.

As many as 3,507,920 people from 939,936 families were affected, with 300,953 individuals housed in 2,331 evacuation centers and another 128,899 receiving aid outside evacuation centers.

The disasters resulted in 12 deaths (5 validated), 16 injuries (11 validated), and four missing persons.

The Cagayan Valley recorded the most number of fatalities at seven, followed by three in Central Luzon, and two in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).

These numbers are still undergoing validation.

STATE OF CALAMITY

A total of 29 cities and municipalities were placed under a state of calamity, including nine in Cagayan Valley, eight in Central Luzon, and 12 in CAR.

Up to 51,921 houses were damaged, with Bicol Region registering the most destruction, accounting for 37,435 of the homes affected.

Roads and bridges were also affected, with 103 road sections and 50 bridges still impassable, as of the NDRRMC's 8 a.m. situational report.

Damage to infrastructure reached an estimated P2.03 billion, with Ilocos Region incurring the highest losses at P753.65 million.

At least 59 cities and municipalities are still without electricity, while five remain without water supply.

Despite relief efforts amounting to P226.7 million, only 13 percent of families affected — 65,764 out of the 504,441 in need — have received assistance.
