Three riders from Cavite who were reported missing during the onslaught of Typhoon #PepitoPH turned out to have escaped a landslide in Aurora province.

John Benedict Ibasco, Jr., his child, and fellow rider Leo Calleja were traveling back from a competition in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur, on November 17, 2024.

On their way, they decided to visit Baler, Aurora, for sightseeing.

While traversing Aurora, they encountered a landslide that buried the motorcycle they were riding under mud, rocks, and debris.

Forced to abandon their vehicles by the roadside, the riders ran to safety as the landslide intensified.

The group eventually found refuge in Dinadiawan, Aurora where Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) employees assisted and sheltered them.

The riders expressed their deep gratitude for surviving the ordeal and for the help they received amid the storm.
