Students at Mangaldan National High School (MNHS) may have to give up their semester break to make up for lost school days caused by recent typhoons.

Saturday classes are also being considered to recover lessons.

MNHS Administrative Officer IV Bernadette Magtanong said they are waiting for official guidelines.

"We are just waiting for the memorandum kung itutuloy namin ang klase with the students na dapat INSET ‘yung 'In-Service Trainings' for teachers sana," she said.

The school reported a 95 percent attendance rate today, with 7,910 Junior and Senior High School students back to regular classes.

However, six school days in October and two in November were suspended due to storms.

The Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) supports the plan to cancel the break scheduled for November 25–29, 2024.

"Para mahabol po namin ang mga missed lessons namin, and imbes na sem break pasukan na lang namin, para tuloy-tuloy ang matututunan namin," SSLG President Mhae Sambrano, said.

Despite the adjustments, the school assures students that the holiday break from December 21 to January 1 will not be affected.
