A dead woman was found at the seaside in South Road Properties (SRP), Cebu City.
By the wound on her neck, and blotches, police believe that she could have been choked to death.
The body was found face to the ground on a rocky portion by the seaside morning on Tuesday, November 19, 2024.
The location was at the border of Cebu City and Talisay City near an outpost of Bantay Dagat Cebu City (sea patrollers).
Members of Bantay Dagat said they did not notice of any commotion in the said spot. However, there were persons who noticed of a car that stopped in the vicinity at about 4 a.m., according to one Danilo Bosotros.
When the authorities checked the area, there were indications on the sand that something was dragged.
The authorities said that a blotch on the woman’s neck indicated of strangulation, possibly manual or by hand.
Police further confirmed that the victim sustained a wound on her neck.
The Maritime Police also came to inspect the area, it being within their jurisdiction.
Personnel of Station 11 of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) were the first to investigate on the incident but they have not provided details yet on the initial result of the inspection.
Police Lt. Col. Antonietto Cañete, CCPO director, ordered a thorough investigation on the incident to establish the identity of the perpetrator, or if there were possibly more persons involved.
He ordered a “backtracking of CCTV footage” to help determine if the woman was indeed killed.
An autopsy on the body has also been requested.
As of this writing, the woman remains to be identified.
