After a night of heavy rains from Typhoon #PepitoPH, parts of Calasiao, Pangasinan, experienced isolated flooding, which has entered homes.

“Binabahan apo... kagabi lang dahil sa pag-ulan kagabi,” Justine Guilledo, a 21-year-old resident, said.

Guilledo said he waded through the floodwaters in Barangay Lasip. He wore boots to navigate this flooded house.

His family has moved to the second floor for safety while waiting for the water to subside.

Some roads in Calasiao were also flooded briefly, although the water receded after a few hours, according to the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO).

“Although itong pagbaha natin sa buong magdamag na naranasan natin, mayroon tayong mga natanggap na reports na nagkaroon ng stagnant rainwater flooding doon sa kanilang areas,” Kristine Joy Soriano, the MDRRMO spokesperson, said.

MDRRMO continues to coordinate with other government agencies in case forced evacuations become necessary as water levels in the Marusay River remain on the rise.

As of 12 noon on November 19, 2024, the Marusay River reached 8.4 ft. which is above critical level.
