Despite the storm, nearby Santa Barbara remained bustling with trade, while in Calasiao, five families fled their homes near a flood-prone dike in Barangay Poblacion East.

Cagayan province also bore the brunt of Pepito’s wrath.

In Baggao, sudden floods engulfed homes in Barangay Awallan and Taguntungan, forcing residents to seek safety.

Local authorities launched rescue operations, bringing stranded families to evacuation centers.

Meanwhile, a riprap along Paranan River in Baggao gave way under the pressure of rushing water, prompting officials to warn nearby residents.

In Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, fierce winds ripped through the area, snapping trees and keeping residents indoors.

Similar conditions were reported in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya, where large trees were uprooted, missing houses narrowly.

Aurora also felt Pepito’s force, especially in Dipaculao, where the typhoon made its second landfall.
