A 72-year-old woman in Davao City died after she was thrown off the motorcycle she was riding and ran over by a dump truck.
Her companion was injured.
Police said the motorcycle and the truck were both traveling in the same direction on the Maharlika Highway in Barangay Ilang.
When the two vehicles reached the place of the incident, the motorcycle driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle because of the uneven road and hit the right portion of the truck.
Because of the impact, the rider and the woman riding in pillion were thrown off the motorcycle.
The woman died after she was ran over by the truck while the rider was rushed to the hospital.
The truck driver was taken under police custody and did not issue a statement.
