The combined effects of tropical cyclones #NikaPH, #OfelPH, and #PepitoPH affected more than 1.1 million individuals across Luzon, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said Monday, November 18, 2024.
In its 8 a.m. report, a total of 1,145,942 people from 295,576 families were affected by widespread flooding, power outages, and infrastructure damage caused by the storms.
Among them, 446,177 individuals sought shelter in 2,717 evacuation centers, while 238,894 stayed with relatives or in temporary accommodations.
Even after #KristinePH, the Bicol Region remained the hardest hit, with over 1 million residents affected.
Additionally, 132,006 families were evacuated preemptively in the region to minimize casualties.
The storms damaged 272 road sections and 101 bridges, with 34 roads and 24 bridges still impassable as of Monday, November 18, 2024.
Agricultural losses reached over P8.6 million, alongside infrastructure damages amounting to nearly P470 million.
Assistance efforts continue, with 53,430 families receiving aid valued at P49 million.
Some areas, including the Bicol and CALABARZON Regions, have yet to determine the number of individuals given assistance, as of this writing.
