Super Typhoon #PepitoPH has made landfall along the eastern coast of Catanduanes, bringing powerful winds and heavy rainfall to affected areas, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported.
As of 10:00 p.m. on November 16, 2024, the center of #PepitoPH was located in the vicinity of Panganiban, Catanduanes (13.9°N, 124.3°E).
The storm is moving west-northwestward at a speed of 25 km/h.
The typhoon currently has maximum sustained winds of 195 km/h near its center, with gustiness reaching up to 325 km/h and a central pressure of 920 hPa. Strong to typhoon-force winds extend outward up to 300 km from the center.

Track and Intensity
- Typhoon Pepito will pass near the Calaguas Islands early morning on November 17 before moving over Polillo Islands by noon.
- A second landfall is expected over northern Quezon or central/southern Aurora between noon and afternoon.
- Pepito will traverse the upland regions of Sierra Madre, Caraballo, and Cordillera Central, emerging in the coastal waters of Pangasinan or La Union late evening.
- Pepito may exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Monday, November 18.
Although weakening is expected as Pepito crosses Luzon, the typhoon is projected to remain at typhoon intensity during its passage. Communities outside the direct landfall zone are also warned of severe winds and heavy rainfall.
