A total of 156 families, or 471 individuals, from Barangay Ubaliw in Polangui, Albay, are seeking refuge at a local mall for Typhoon #PepitoPH, after their usual evacuation center was flooded.
The mall opened its doors after barangay officials reached out to the owner, to ensure a safe haven for the evacuees ahead of the storm’s impact.
As of 8 a.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2024, Typhoon Pepito was located 235 km east of Catarman, Northern Samar, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
The storm is moving west-northwest and is expected to make landfall in Catanduanes Saturday evening or early Sunday morning.
