Up to 37 barangays in the Davao region are considered to be high risk for flooding and landslides, based on the list released by the Mines and Geosciences Bureau-Davao (MGB-11).
The list includes Barangays Doña Alicia and Golden Valley Maraut in Mabini, Davao de Oro; Barangays New Leyte and Teresa in Maco, Davao de Oro; Barangays Andap, Manurigao, and Tandawan in New Bataan, Davao de Oro; and Araibo in Pantukan, Davao de Oro.
At least 23 barangays in Maragusan, Davao de Oro were also included. These are Poblacion, Bagong Silang, Bahi, Cambagang, Coronobe, Katipunan, Lahi, Langgawisan, Mabugnao, Magcagong, Mahayahay, Mapawa, Mauswagon, New Albay, New Katipunan, New Manay, New Panay, Paloc, Pamintaran, Parasanon, Talian, Tigbao, and Tupas.
In Davao del Sur, Barangays Alegre, Alta Vista, and Managa in Bansalan; Sibulan in Sta. Cruz; and Rizal and Kapatagan in Digos City are also included on the list.
Meanwhile, the Mt. Apo National Park in Davao City is also considered to be high risk for flooding and landslides.
Authorities warned residents in these areas to be vigilant against the danger of landslides and flooding, especially when there is a downpour.
