A supervisor of a manpower agency was found dead inside the comfort room of the apartment he was renting in General Santos City.
The victim, a 39-year-old man, sustained stab wounds in his body while his mouth was covered with tape.
He did not reach the hospital alive.
The first floor of the apartment served as the victim’s office that he shared with two other employees.
According to the two employees, they have just returned to the office from a lunch break when they found the victim lifeless.
Police have identified two persons of interest.
Based on CCTV footage, the suspects were wearing masks, jackets, and bull caps.
“As of now may POI tayo dalawa, dalawang suspek na nakunan sa CCTV pero wala pa tayong clear image of them, because they are wearing mask, jacket, and bull cap,” Police Station 1 Commander, Major Renato Tolentino Dungca, said.
Investigators are eyeing personal grudge as motive in the killing.
“Personal grudge kasi as we consider… makita natin doon sa crime scene, medyo brutal talaga, makita mong galit talaga, may galit yung pag-execute ng krimen,” Dungca added.
Police said robbery may not be the motive.
“Sa pagnanakaw naman, di namin pwede mai-consider yung robbery as a motive kasi although may nawalang cellphone , kaya kinuha ang cellphone, baka mayroong tinatago doon sa cellphone,” Dungca said.
The family of the victim is calling for justice and called on the perpetrators to surrender.
“Nanawagan ako sa naghimo ani sa karumal-dumal nga krimen nga unta makonsensya ka sa imu gihimo unta musurrender naka,” a family member said.
