Authorities have pressed charges against the driver of the wing van truck that plowed through multiple vehicles on Carlos P. Garcia Highway in Davao City, which killed a motorcycle rider and injured several others.
In an interview with GMA Super Radyo Davao, Traffic Enforcement Unit Chief Investigator, Executive Master Sergeant Ruben Madera, said the driver is facing charges for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide, multiple serious physical injury, and multiple damage to property.
The truck was traveling the north bound lane when the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle while going downhill and plowed through six private vehicles and five motorcycles.
Because of the impact, the driver of one of the motorcycles died while those injured were rushed to the hospital.
The family of the rider who died and the other rider who was injured have filed complaints.
The other individuals who were injured have been discharged from the hospital.
The truck driver remains under police custody and has yet to issue a statement, as of this writing.
